Final Tribute Arranged ftir
Mrs. R. L. Piemeisel of
Twin Falls
Arrangements were being completed
today for funeral services for
Mrs. Lydia Stebley Nlckle Plemeisel,
47, wife of R. L. Piemeslel, who died
suddenly yesterday morning at the
Twin Falls county hospital. Death
was attributed to a heart attack,
following on operation, and-came
as a distinct shock to her many
friends and associates.
Mrs. Piemeisel, a leader in the
civic, church and club life of the
community, had been a resident of
Twin Falls since 1929, coming here
with her husband from Washington,
D. C.
Especially active in the Twentieth
Century club, Mrs. Piemeisel
was president in the organization
in 1936 and 1937; had served as
chairman of the-drama and literature
department of the club, and
had recently been elected chairman
of the newly-organized department
of fine arts.
Devoted Episcopalian
A devoted member of Ascension
Episcopal church, Mrs. Piemeisel
had served for four years as vice
president of the Twin Palls Deanery
association, a district organization;
had been a delegate to the state
convention and served on Important
committees.
Her interest in activities of the
church had also prompted her to
become a teacher in the Sunday
school, and she had served variously
as president and treasurer of
Ascension Episcopal Guild and was
secretary-treasurer of the Altar
Guild.
Mrs. Piemeisel was widely acquainted
with club women throughout
the state, and was a former
auditor of the state Federation of
Women's clubs. She had also been
active in the district association.
Mrs. Piemeisel's leadership ability
was recognized by the international
relations department of the Twin
Falls American Association of University
Women, when they elected
her as chairman of the group for
the coming year.
She was a former secretary of
the local Red Cross, and a member
of the Republican Women's league
of Twin Falls county and of the
American Legion Auxiliary.
In Government Work
Among Mrs. Piemeisel's outstanding
accomplishments while she was
associated with the bureau of plant
industry, department of agriculture,
was co-authorship of "Water Requirement
of Plants at Akron, Colorado"
with H. L. Shuntz.
During the years she was stationed
in Washington, D. C., she
studied law and received an LL.B.
degree from Washington College of
Law.
Mrs. Piemeisel was bom June 6,
1890, at Delaware City, Del. She
was married July 29, 1925, at Colorado
Springs, Colo.
Surviving relatives are her husband;
one sister, Mrs. Myra Murphy,
and one brother, Harry C. Nickle,
both of Delaware City, and 16 nieces
and nephews.
The body rests at the White mortuary.
Funeral arrangements await,
word from the relatives in the east.
